Blake Griffin has a staph infection in his right elbow and Monday will have surgery to remove it, the Clippers announced Sunday morning. The Clippers are currently playing at Oklahoma City and Spencer Hawes started for Griffin.

According to ABC, which is airing the Clippers (33-18) and Thunder (25-25), Griffin had his elbow drained six days ago.

J.J. Redick is also out Sunday, missing his third consecutive game with back spasms. Austin Rivers started in his place.

The Clippers trailed the Thunder 28-26 after one quarter.
