Longtime Clippers broadcaster Ralph Lawler joined reporters at Saturday’s practice in Playa Vista. That gave coach Doc Rivers the chance to get comical when asked about the bonding the team did on its recent eight-day trip to China.

“They had a beautiful bar at the top of the hotel that I saw Ralph at every night,” Rivers said, drawing laughter from all, including Lawler. “Ralph was there, but so were all our players; they were there every night, a lot of them.

“And so that’s stuff you don’t get when you’re at home. You go home to your family and your friends. When you’re on a trip for a week like that you tend to hang out with each other, and that was nice.”
