DeAndre Jordan believes he can do a ‘better’ job of rebounding

DeAndre Jordan had a whopping 24 rebounds in Monday’s 102-87 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at Staples Center. Interestingly, it was the first time this season the Clippers have outrebounded an opponent. The Clippers had 55, the Trail Blazers 54.

When the Trail Blazers defeated the Clippers 102-91 on Nov. 20 at Portland, the Trail Blazers outrebounded the Clippers 55-42. Jordan remembered.

“We won the (rebounding) game,” he said post-game Monday. “We have done a poor job as a team rebounding. I think I can do a lot better. They outrebounded us in Portland. Those guys really crashed the glass and they got a lot of rebounds. Tonight we were able to focus on that and when we secure the basketball on the defensive end, we can get out and run and do what we are good at.”

Jordan is averaging 13.1 rebounds, nearly two fewer than he did this past season when he averaged a league-high 15.0.
