The Clippers had just defeated the struggling and Anthony Davis-less New Orleans Pelicans 114-111 in overtime on Sunday afternoon, when Clippers center DeAndre Jordan was asked to assess his team’s performance. He pulled no punches.

“We played (expletive) tonight, especially down the stretch,” said Jordan, whose team did not make a field goal over the final six minutes of regulation. “Some games you have got to grind it out and that is what we did today.”

Jordan scored 12 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and blocked two shots.

Even though the Clippers (25-13) did not play well, they won their ninth consecutive game, eighth without the services of injured forward Blake Griffin.

The Pelicans are 11-25.

Davis was out with a bruised back sustained Friday in a game against the Indiana Pacers when he leaped over courtside chairs chasing a loose ball.
