Clippers guard Chris Paul on Sunday was more than a little stoked to hear that Blake Griffin is expected to return to the team next Sunday against the Washington Wizards after he serves his four-game suspension. That began Sunday when the Clippers beat the Denver Nuggets 105-90 at Staples Center.

Griffin has missed the past 42 games with a partially torn left quad tendon and fractured right hand.

“It is great,” Paul said post-game. “We went through some offensive stuff yesterday (at practice) and everything is a lot smoother when Blake is back on the court. Just our continuity and the way our offense looks, it just gives our team an ultimate confidence. At the same time, we understand that he has to work his way in.”
