Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams on Monday played for the first time since Jan. 7 and he scored 15 points and had three assists in Brooklyn’s 102-100 come-from-behind victory over the Clippers. Two of Brooklyn’s points came thanks to this unbelievable pass in the paint by Williams that had no less than three Clippers probably saying, “Which way did he go?” Check this out:
Jamal Crawford on Monday moved into eighth-place all alone in made 3-pointers by making two in the Clippers’ 102-100 loss at Brooklyn. Crawford now has 1,789 with No. 7 Chauncey Billups (1,830) next in line for him to pass. But Crawford does a lot more than make 3-pointers. He still has some of the most amazing offensive moves in the game at age 34. Just ask Brooklyn’s Bojan Bogdanovic, who was faked into Chick Hearn’s popcorn machine on this Crawford move and basket:

– Blake Griffin admitted he was not aggressive enough in this game. He took only 10 shots and made six for 13 points, well under his season-scoring average of 22.6. Two days earlier, in a win at San Antonio, Griffin took 21 shots and made 12 for 31 points. That’s not to mention Griffin had just six rebounds in this one compared to 13 at San Antonio.
– Did the Clippers quit playing defense as coach Doc Rivers suggested after they earned a nine-point lead with 1:46 to play in the game? Well, the Nets scored 15 points during that final 1:46 and did not miss a field-goal attempt. What do you think? Fifteen points in a minute and 46 seconds? Wow!
– It’s interesting to see what DeAndre Jordan had 22 points and a whopping 20 rebounds. Yet, he did not block even one shot for the first time since Nov. 23 at Memphis.
– J.J. Redick played just four minutes and had to leave the game with back spasms. Redick missed the first game of this road trip at Utah because of back spasms, so now this has become a concern. Redick played just 35 games in 2013-14 because of injuries, one of which was a bulging disk in his back.
– Jamal Crawford scored 18 points, but shot just 7 of 22 from the field – 2 of 7 from 3-point range. The first 3-point basket he made allowed him to move into eighth-place all-time with 1,789 made 3-pointers. Next up for Crawford to pass at No. 7 is Chauncey Billups, who has 1,830.

Point guard Chris Paul had 20 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, three steals and three turnovers in Monday’s 102-100 loss at Brooklyn. The Clippers held a nine-point lead with 1:46 before melting down.
Paul afterward was queried about the Clippers’ up-and-down nature, something that has been a rather regular topic for a team that still has a fine record of 33-16.
“Yeah, it’s bad,” Paul said late Monday. “It’s sort of like the Super Bowl last night. If we win, it would have been a different story. The Clippers would have been doing really well on this road trip. Then we didn’t, so there it goes.”
The Clippers are 2-2 on this eight-game Grammy road trip. The most difficult part of the trip remains. They play Friday at Cleveland (30-20), Friday at Toronto (33-16), Sunday at Oklahoma City (24-24) and Monday at Dallas (33-17).
