Count Clippers power forward Blake Griffin among those really bummed out about the sudden passing of music icon Prince on Thursday morning at age 57.

Griffin, speaking to reporters late Thursday morning at the team’s practice facility in Playa Vista, paid Prince quite a tribute.

“It sucks, man,” Griffin said. “Every time something like this happens, it just sucks. But it also makes you realize how precious any little moment is. Getting a chance to see somebody like that or to draw from somebody like that, who is so good at what they do and so passionate about what they do, is awesome. It’s cool when somebody like that can leave such a huge legacy, such a huge impact on people. We were all in the training room and probably more than half of us never met him or even saw him in concert. But still, he was such a big part of our childhood. So it’s sad, but cool that he had such a very positive impact.”
