CBU baseball alums Aaron Hartsock (2006) and Aaron Seuss (2007) received their respective minor league assignments Monday afternoon.
Hartsock, the 2006 GSAC Pitcher of the Year, will report to the Kansas City Royals’ affiliate Wilmington Blue Rocks of the Carolina League (Class A-Advanced). Meanwhile, Seuss, the 2006 GSAC Player of the Year and two-time NAIA All-American, is reporting to the Washington Nationals’ affiliate Hagerstown Suns of the South Atlantic League (Class A).
In his first full season of pro ball last year, Hartsock was 7-4 with a 2.62 ERA and six saves in 42 appearances for the Burlington Bees of the Midwest League (Class A). In 75.2 innings, Hartsock allowed 63 hits and 22 earned runs while striking out 51. He was tied for the team lead in wins. Hartsock was a 23rd round selection of the Royals in the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft.
Seuss hit .293 with 11 doubles, four home runs and 37 RBIs in 69 games for the Vermont Lake Monsters last season. He was a New York-Penn League All-Star and hit .456 (26-for-57) with two home runs, seven doubles, 11 RBIs and nine runs during a 15-game hitting streak from July 14-29. Seuss was a 27th round selection in the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft.
