Coroner: Killer suffocated elderly South Bay woman

The Coroner's Office tells us that an autopsy today found that an elderly woman discovered dead in her home near Carson died from asphyxia due to suffocation.

Her death was ruled a homicide.

Amada Simbala, 73, was found Wednesday in her home in the 24300 block of Doble Avenue in the unincorporated area between Carson and Harbor Gateway.
