Just getting into the opinion now, and hoping to do a story with a local angle for tomorrow's paper. You can read the opinion at here.

Remember yesterday when I asked people to e-mail me to share their thoughts on the decision? Well, the e-mail Gods are sometimes not friendly, and our server here at the Daily Breeze went down and is making a very, very slow recovery. Very slow. So, if you e-mailed me, I didn't get it. But, I still want to hear from you. Post a comment to this entry, send an e-mail to dailybreezenews@gmail.com or give me a call at 310-543-6652.

I think it's well past time to oust the judges who overrule the people and make laws to fit their OWN personal agenda.

The PEOPLE of the State of California spoke when Prop 22 was passed. Marriage was then clearly defined as the union of One MAN and One WOMAN. Now, 4 rogue judges decided that the people of California don't know what they are talking about, so they rewrote the law.

What is the POINT of having the people VOTE on laws if a few idiots who purport to be fair overturn it because they THINK it's right?! We are on our way to a dictatorship that is being pirated by a liberal agenda.

The family unit is being disintegrated from the bench one family at a time. how absolutely tragic.

Well, it's about time! When will the voters realize you cannot vote hate into law? Anyway, I'm glad it's been set right, but I'm sure by this weekend, we'll see the haters at their folding tables out in front of the grocery stores gathering signatures for ballot initiatives... It's sad when there are so many life or death issues going on around us people focus on this non-issue to get so worked up about. Anyway - THANKS SUPREME COURT! GOOD WORK! WOOT!

How stupid... as if California isn't strange enough they're going to ad frosting. There's no reason for this at all. How could educated people be so ignorant to ignore society's needs over a minorities whims?

Well, I'm glad that the CA supreme court came to their senses. There is nothing in the US constitution that bars gay marriages. This is a free country. It's so ironic that in what is suppose to be a progressive state (CA) that the constituents went through the ridiculous process of legislating this ban. I'm sure now there will be tons of flack directed to the CA high court. "What about the 'people's' mandate?" Well, whatever "moral majority" there is out there is not indicative of what is truly right. Discrimination in any form is bad for the state and bad for this country,

Why do we vote if it is just going to be overturned? What happened to democracy? Is just a word to make aus feel good? Is our voice falling on deaf ears? This is BS. that's what it is. This is directed at that fact that our vote has no merrit. Not at homosexuals. We live in the best place on earth. But it is going to hell in a hand basket.

Please don't through it in our face.....we don't have to see it so you Daily Breeze shouldn't be posting pictures of it. Don't think i'll be getting the Daily Breeze anymore if these type of pictures continue appearing in your papers.

I believe the objective is to give the partners the same legal rights as normal couples. I can understand that.

What I cannot comprehend is why people would actually parade their sexual identities and abnormalities to the public at large.

Talking about your sex life is a very private aspect of life and should not be advertised to others! That is nasty! Decent people keep this information to themselves whether they are man and woman or the same sex.

Some things should not be discussed in public at all!

awesome! you go gays! great news!

Bunnie said:

Just because people disagree with passing same sex marriage laws doesn't mean that those people hate gays. To suggest this would be wrong. Since courts so often ignore (or overturn) the votes of the people, with Prop 215, Prop 187, and now Prop 22, is there really a question why we have a growing number of complacent, non voters?

Bryce said:

O.K. simpletons, the ones that keep saying "why even vote then," clearly are not gay and don't understand the importance of this. Torrance should remain in the South, pre-1960. This is needed, it's not a "choice" just like the color of one's skin. If you don't understand, then don't try to take away (hurtful), remember, the heterosexuals remain and always will be the majority and sadly, many say one thing in public, but then quietly vote against us in a voting booth. Just give gay marriage a chance, please?
