El Segundo theater shooting victim Devan Jackson checks in
I got this e-mail today from Devan Jackson, the Hawthorne man wounded during the shootout between police officers and an ex-con at the Pacific Theaters in El Segundo back on April 7.
Remember he got fired from his job a few days later? He still needs work. I sent him an e-mail
recently asking how he was doing and forwarded a letter to him from a reader who wanted to help him out.

"Hey how are you Larry? Hope everything is OK. As for me, I'm fine. Looking for jobs now.
Just updated my resume, so now I'm on the hunt. Life has to go on. My leg's healing. It's been hurting bad unfortunately. Hopefully that improves.
I'm going to set an appointment to get my prosthetic boot so I can heal properly and not have this bad limp for the rest of my life.
Oh and as for the lawyer, he terminated me due to his "high case load." It's OK though. I can do nothing but pray and keep faith.
I have received the letter you sent. I wish I knew who it was from. It's just signed by "A Witness." They sent a nice card and $100. Lord knows it's helpful.
Thank you for the letter and keeping in contact with me. I really appreciate it. I hope all is well. Talk to you soon."
