Barber1.jpgThis is Cornell Anderson Barber, a 28-year-old Torrance man.

Police said today he allegedly kidnapped, robbed and attempted to rape a woman on a Torrance street April 27.

The woman was walking in the early morning hours near Torrance Boulevard and Anza Avenue when Barber passed by.

Police said he pulled out a handgun, pressed it to her ribs and tried to pull her between buildings. She resisted and fought him off.

He took her purse and jewelry and ran.

Detectives developed information leading them to Barber and arrested him Friday.

Not sure, but it looks like he has tear drops tattooed below his right eye.
