More details on the Lawndale-based counterfeit currency ring
At the downtown Los Angeles news conference yesterday announcing the bust of a Lawndale-based ginormous counterfeit operation, authorities gave lots of details about how they caught the bogus bill makers and what they were doing inside Albert Edward Talton's rented home.
KTLA talked to neighbors yesterday, who reported seeing expensive cars outside the home, including Aston Martins and Bentleys. Inside the home, one room was dedicated to the high-tech operation.
The Los Angeles Times reports that one of the suspects, who was under surveillance by Secret Service agents, is seen passing a fake $20 bill through a fast-food fried chicken drive-thru window. They also included a nice detail about all the hairspray bottles found at the bald-headed Talton's home. The hairspray is used to coat the bills.
