Time Warner gets taken to court
Grumbling about cable service, including how expensive it is and how cable companies have a monopoly on TV watching, is as American as apple pie. And so are lawsuits. Today, Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo said he plans to sue Time Warner for making false and misleading statements to customers, according to a wire story in the Daily News.
"The 25-page lawsuit claims the company violated its franchise agreement by having subscribers spend hours on hold with customer service representatives and allowing excessive repair work delays," the report states.
Last year, Time Warner took Redondo Beach to court to fight a $61,000 bill for failing to submit monthly records on call volumes and wait times on the customer service line. It looks like the legal dispute has settled, though.
