Former PVE resident and "Spam King" awaits sentence
It's been an unusual couple of days in a Washington state federal courtroom, where former Palos Verdes Estates resident Robert Soloway is undergoing a sentencing hearing for his spamming activities. It's a landmark case - the biggest ever against the largest spammer known. The government asked for two days to present witnesses to testify about Soloway's fraudulent, annoying and damaging business, but they did not finish Monday as expected.
The case is scheduled to continue next Tuesday, July 22. Prosecutors have asked for nine years in prison, Soloway's attorneys said no more than two is justified. The Palos Verdes Peninsula High School graduate faces a maximum of 20.

Its really a shame, you know. Since Soloway's arrest, I have been unable to get a refi or an erection. My penny stock portfolio is in complete disarray, and I'm no longer meeting hot teens like I used to.
However, on the bright side, I received an INCREDIBLE business proposition from the former Nigerian Prince Wumi Abduwabi. So I got that goin' for me...which is nice.
Thanks for the laugh! Guess you have the same great Spam filter we have here at the Breeze.
In the past, prosecution of spammers and malicious hackers has been a joke. Our legislators continually refuse to pass tough laws to stop it, and law enforcement is inept in carrying out the weak ones we do have. They need to make the punishment so severe that these people who are literally destroying the Internet will think twice about what they do. If Soloway's guilty, hang ‘em.
