Larry,
"Just wanted you to know that you have fans out there! Even though I moved off to Santa Barbara from the South Bay I still read the Daily Breeze (hard copy and online) regularly because of your articles and your blog. I lived in the South Bay for 46 years, my folks still live there. Keep up the great work and thanks."
Bobbie, a resident of Torrance says:
"Thank you for the front page article about our Torrance Police Department. Larry did a great job! To the men and women who worked on "Operation Accountability"...thank you for all the hard work. Just relieved to hear none of our police were hurt.
A wake up call to our community that drugs traffic and its people are here selling drugs to local residents and our kids. They maybe our neighbors! Its really scary to read in Larry's article the amount and types of drugs and the amount of weapons that were confiscated!
Just hope these major suppliers will think twice before they decide to move into the South Bay. This article brought it home to all of us to know drugs is around us.
Thank you Torrance Police for continuing to make our community a safe place. Thank you Larry for that great article!! It really made my day!"

"Hey Larry,
I thought it might be cool to map the locations from your story...
Just to show you how cool it would be to post that page. But who ever
did your web page, jacked up the data so well that it the level of
effort required to do something useful with the data exceeded the amount
of time I was willing to devote to the task. I think it's kinda like
your "databases" They are cute, but next to worthless.
I don't know who is doing this to you, but they seem to have nailed
"pretty" but have no concept at all of "data" or anything meaningful.
I guess I'm expecting too much out of guys who thing that the way you
write something is to snake it all over some big sheets of paper in 2
inch wide columns in the style dictated by 200 year old technology.
Your table of addresses should link to a map. (Accountants do columns
of numbers. Lawyers to lines of text. But people see things as visual
... )
21st century journalism will figure this out. 19th century journalists
will starve."
