More crime stuff from Redondo Beach:
08-20-08 (Wednesday)
- On Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at approximately 2:34 p.m., three male transients, one with a bike chain, attempted to rob a male victim of his wallet, at the bus stop on Diamond at PCH. There was no loss and an area search was negative for the suspects. Police have identified two suspects.
08-21-08 (Thursday)
- On Thursday, August 21, 2008 at approximately 2:55 p.m., A woman returned to her home in the 1900 block of Speyer Lane and was confronted by two males who had broken into her house. The suspects, both male blacks in their early twenties, were inside the residence upstairs loading bags with the victim's property. Fortunately the suspects did not find the woman's 18 year-old daughter who was asleep in another bedroom. It is unknown the point of entry to the location. When the suspects were confronted by the victim they pushed her and ran from the house. They were last seen on Flagler Ln running to a tan vehicle that was driven by another suspect.
08-22-08 (Friday)
- On Friday, August 22, 2008 at approximately 1:28 a.m., two suspects inside the BAC St. bar located at 2422 Artesia Bl. confronted a victim after they had been drinking together for a portion of the evening. The victim did not know the suspects prior to this evening. An argument ensued and one suspect threw a shoulder into the victim. They decided to go into the parking lot to fight. Once in the parking lot, one of the suspects pulls out a handgun, most likely a revolver, and fires at least one round towards the ground in the general direction of the victim. The bullet most likely skipped on the ground and entered an exterior wall of the business. The two suspects then fled on foot southbound on Phelan Ln. from the bar and out of sight. During the investigation, an officer located a female witness who had been partying with the suspect. She provided his first name, cell number and several pictures of him from her IPhone. There were no reports of injuries and although there were several people in the bar, most were highly intoxicated and could not or would not provide assistance with suspect descriptions.
- On 08-22-08 at approximately 8:54 a.m., a belated burglary report was taken for a residence in the 1900 Blk. of Speyer Ln. Officers talked with a neighbor who actually saw the suspects leaving the location, yesterday (08-21-08) around 3:00 PM. He knew they were suspicious and so he watched them walk from the location to the area of 1918 Speyer Ln, where he lost sight of them. The suspects then apparently burglarized that house. The suspect descriptions matched the burglary report taken the previous day. A Redondo Beach CSI officer obtained finger prints from the point of entry.
Saturday (08-23-08)
- On 08-23-08 at approximately 2:23 p.m., Officers responded to the Galleria Mall on a vandalism call in which a female suspect damaged some display items in one of the stores located within the mall. The female was last seen leaving the mall parking lot in a black Dodge Durango. Two patrol officers found and stopped the car on Artesia. The car turned out to be a stolen car. A regional auto theft task force (TRAP) was notified and an investigation started.
