Compton Juvenile Court prosecutors saw the proof in the video: The Torrance Transit bus driver threw the first punch in an on-board fight over unpaid fare in Carson. Charges were filed against Jamel Stanfield, 13, after the March 5 melee. But after his attorney, Mark Haushalter, showed prosecutors video from an on-board camera, the case against Jamel was dismissed today "in the interest of justice," as they say.

Jamel's civil attorney says he's heard nothing from the city about a claim he filed in May.

We'll have a full report on the dismissal in tomorrow's Daily Breeze.

KCAL/KCBS has the footage. Click here and look for the video titled "Caught on Tape: Public Bus Brawl."
