MORGAN~1.jpgMorgan Freeman, who played police forensic psychologist Dr. Alex Cross in "Along Came a Spider" and homicide Lt. William Somerest in "Seven," was injured in a car wreck over the weekend.

Freeman, 71, who owns a home in Mississippi, was reported in serious condition.

Mississippi Highway Patrol officials said Freeman's car left a road and flipped over several times four miles west of Charleston.

Police said the car went airborne and landed in a ditch. Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to cut him from the car.

He was lucid and joking with the rescuers.

He's currently in Batman.

I like those Alex Cross books and movies. Freeman also played Cross in "Kiss the Girls."
