Glad I left So Cal said:

" In the interest of Justice " C'mon folks. While I agree the driver should never have put his hands on the kid, what was the precurser. Let see, the kid did not want to pay the fare or did not have the money or whatever.....no driver it going to just punch a kid, so what did the kid do to provoke the driver. His parents should have addressed his issues when he was much younger, now the mold is set and they can only expect to have continued issues with this young man. A law suit, hey driver .........SUE THE KIDS PARENTS!, The city and dept of transportation, back up your employees and let the fares know you are not going to let them abuse you any longer. I guarantee you this is not just some one time thing. I applaud you driver for having exercised restraint up to this point. Had that been my kid, oh nevermind my kids knows what I would have done to them for causing such a problem!!!!!

Larry Altman has covered crime in the South Bay since 1990. He's seen it all - the missing model who turned up dead in the desert, the wives found dead in trunks, the high-school coaches who get a little too close to their players. He drives his young colleagues nuts with his "I remember when" stories. He welcomes your tips and observations about the present, and you can mix in a little Lakers basketball talk if you like.
