A gang member was convicted on today of five counts of attempted murder for shooting into a car full of people in Hawthorne. The Airport Courthouse jury deliberated about a week before finding Edgar Mejia, 30, guilty of all the charges and allegations that the shooting was gang-related and involved guns.

The jury is still deliberating on the same charges against co-defendant Carlos Carcamo, 33.
The Inglewood gang members are accused of shooting into a Cadillac carrying four adults and a toddler on July 5, 2004, in the 11800 block of Truro Avenue.

The perpetrators led police on a pursuit, then ran on foot. Mejia was arrested a short while later hiding in a nearby apartment.

Mejia will return to court Dec. 9 for sentencing. He is facing multiple life terms in prison.

THIS GOES FOR THE JUDGE, PLEASE READ PROVERBS 23:10-12, YOU THINK BY SENDING THE JURY BACK TO DELIBERATE MORE WAS GOING TO HELP MY BROTHER AT ALL? I DON'T THINK SO, I KNOW THIS IS JUST A JOB FOR YOU BUT GUESS WHAT IF YOU SIT DOWN LIKE YOU DO IN THAT CHAIR ALL DAY AND THINK YOU'RE DOING YOUR JOB, WELL YOU MIGHT BE HERE ON EARTH BUT THE DAY THAT YOU ARE IN FRONT OF JESUS WHAT EXPLANATION ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE FOR SENDING INNOCENT PEOPLE TO JAIL?. ALL THOSE PEOPLE'S BLOOD WILL BE OVER YOUR SHOULDERS. THE LAWS THAT ARE HERE IN THIS EARTH WILL NOT BE IN THE KINGDOM OF THE LORD, YOUR JOB, CAR, HOUSE AND EVERYTHING YOU OWN AND WHAT YOU WORK FOR ALL DAY WILL NOT BE TAKEN ALONG WITH YOU THE DAY YOU CROSS OVER AND PASS, WHAT WILL YOU TRULY TAKE? NOTHING AND MY BROTHER SHALL LIVE ETERNALLY BECAUSE OF THE PROMISE, WILL YOU? FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT WENT ALONG WITH IT OR WERE NOT PAYING ATTENTION, YOU CITIZENS, IS THAT WHAT YOU CALL YOURSELVES? NATIONALS OF THE UNITED STATES, HOW ARE ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES UNITED? BY CONVICTING PEOPLE, SEPARATING PEOPLE FROM THEIR LOVED ONES..WHAT IF IT WAS YOU.. WHAT IF YOU WERE THE DEFENDANT? WHY DON'T YOU SIT THERE AND BRAINSTORM ON THAT, WHAT IF IT WAS YOUR LOVED ONES?. WE WERE ALL CALLED HERE TO THIS EARTH FOR A REASON, WERE YOU HERE TO JUDGE PEOPLE?. FOR CABRERA, READ EXODUS 20:16, FOR THE NEXT 25 YEARS THAT YOU LIVE IN JAIL AND MAYBE YOU'LL LEARN A LESSON ONE DAY!!!

First of all this is all wrong, First we have a case going well beyond 6 weeks when it was expected to go on more than 3 weeks, at least that's what the judge keep saying over and over in between breaks. What am I getting to is that first of all they say you must love your job in this case I believe this judge might of had it and needs a new career, I feel that all he wanted to do is just get it over and go on the next case well it doesn't work that way or I should say it shouldn't work that way. I mean here we are on Wednesday with what look like a hung jury and mis trial, but then the judge excuses him self to go talk to the jury really for what to persuade them to come to a conclusion so we could all go home the hell with this men's faith. I really can seem to understand how the the same jurors that started in this case can't come to a verdict and then they go on to dismiss 1 of 12, due to been overwhelm and in the berg of loosing her job which I could understand, but then you bring a new juror and in a matter of a day in a half you have a verdict really. Like this young lady says justice will prevail and remember god punishes in misteries ways. I never knew there was such thing as he said she said, you are sending the wrong person to prison and yes the wrong person which at no time was pointed out to be at the crime seen and this was said by the witnesses, but then you have another man who was pointed out receiving a 20 year sentence it doesn't make sense if you ask me this man should be re-tried and then maybe justice will be served. My last thing is a gang specialist so they say was brought in and really made no sense of really knowing the gang life or rules, he is basing himself on all this programs that many of us watch like Lock up, Forensic Files, Biography and many more. If this person really knew anything it would be that in gang life there is so many snitches and rats, and to be honest maybe if I was in Anthony's place I probably would found someone else to blame to save my ass. This is just something for you to think about.

Ok...so 1st of all... Did those of you who left comments REALLY pay attention. One of Inglewood's dirtiest gangsters is going to prison for the rest of his life, as he should. Bottom line - these thugs shot at a bunch of innocent people WITH A BABY IN THE CAR!!! It always amazes me that the family members of these gangsters are so blind. Obviously, whoever responded to this only heard what they wanted to hear.
