BREAKING NEWS: Men try to grab San Pedro High student off street

This is on the San Pedro High School Web site. Thanks to the reader who let us know it was there. Neither the police nor the School District gave us a call to spread the word.
A female student of San Pedro High School was approached by two males that tried to grab her and pull her toward their vehicle. The student was able to fend off the attack. School Police have been notified and an investigation is underway.
On Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at approximately 3:50 p.m., two males, driving in a two door, black pick-up truck with a gray cargo shell, approached a female student of San Pedro High School near the corner of Leland Avenue and 14th Street. The male passenger was described as bald, with light colored eyes and a mustache. No further description was given of the males or the vehicle. The student reported that after the truck pulled behind her, the passenger jumped out, grabbed her, and then pulled her towards the truck. She was able to fend off the attack.School police were notified and a report was filed. An investigation is under way.Please remind your child to be vigilant on their way to and from school.
