WILMINGTON (CNS) - A 23-year-old Wilmington man was behind bars today
for allegedly sexually assaulting three girls.
Carlos Aguirre Jr. was arrested Wednesday and charged Friday with two
counts of lewd acts on a child, one court of rape of an unconscious person, one
count of criminal threats and one count of possession of an illegal substance
for sale, according to Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District
Attorney's Office.
The girls were allegedly assaulted at the Simplemente Beatriz wedding
store at 922 N. Avalon Blvd. in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles police
Officer Julianne Sohn. The business is owned by Aguirre's mother, Sohn said,
and offers dresses and accessories for weddings, proms, quinceaneras, first
communions and baptisms.
Aguirre apparently used alcohol and the drug Ecstasy to sedate his
victims and then sexually assaulted them, Sohn said. All of his victims were
minors, she said, but she could not provide their ages.
Aguirre's arraignment was continued to Dec. 30, Robison said.
He remains in custody in lieu of $1.5 million bail.
