You call yourself an INDEPENDENT Newspaper?! Where is the intellectual thoughts on this by the person who wrote the article? Doesn’t HE OR SHE KNOW - that this is done in China, Communist Russia and Nazi Germany? Does the phrase “PAPERS PLEASE?” come to mind?

All you do is post some nonsense about what they police say and what MADD group says. Well where are the facts? I type in Bakersfield Checkpoint into a search engine and time and time again I see they impounded at least 80 to 100 cars and NO DUI’s!!!

This is a COMPLETE VIOLATION OF THE 4th Amendment! This is what the founding fathers FOUGHT AND DIED FOR!! Hundreds of THOUSANDS of people DIED fighting this Tyranny. Taxes, checkpoints, unreasonable search and seizure.

The 4th Amendment says YOU MUST HAVE PROBABLE CAUSE to make a stop - something that applies to what you saw the person doing! NOT a blanket-stop-everyone suspicion!

STAND UP FOR THE 4TH AMENDMENT! YOU WILL GET 4 TIMES AS MANY READERS IF YOU DO!! CHECK OUT ALEX JONES! You’ll see what I mean!

Perhaps this will help reduce the occurrence of accidents under the influence. Our friends little girl was run over and killed in her own yard while playing in the sand box. The driver was under the influence. (I that case it was pain meds that were not prescribed to them)
