Cori Daye Desmond is missed

The outpouring of love and support for Cori Daye Desmond and her family continued today, even with a candlelight vigil last night and an intense manhunt that has yet to result in an arrest.

Nearly everyone you talk to knew Desmond or her family. The South Bay is large, but during times like this, you really realize what a small, tight-knit community it is.

Desmond's friend An Tran-Tang sent along some photos taken last year at North High School's 10-year reunion, held at Beaches in Manhattan Beach - where Desmond later worked.

Tran-Tang said this: "These are a few pictures from our 10 year North High School reunion

which was taken place at Beaches in Manhattan Beach on November 15th, 2008 that I would like to share. We all missss her soo much!!! She was truly a great person. Thank you for your time."

Once again, we'd like remind anyone who thinks they might have information about Desmond's slaying to call WeTip at 800-78-CRIME, or the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department at 909-387-3589.

I am two years older than Cori but I went to high school with her. This case has really affected me because I realized that Cori could have been my best friend. I cannot stress how important it is to have someone (preferably a man,) walk you to your car and make sure you're okay before you leave a bar. The A-hole who commited this crime will be caught and brought to justice. It saddens me that Cori was such a beautiful spirit and she had her whole life ahead of her, and then this soulless piece of garbage decided that she was disposable. My prayers go out to her closest friends and family because I know they must be devistated.

Cori was truly an angel on this earth. She was always so warm and happy. She brought a smile to all that knew her and even those who did not. I pray that her family is comforted by the positive memories of Cori and that the person who committed this devastating crime is brought to justice soon.

I didn't know Cori Daye Desmond until I started seeing that big billboard on Artesia with her face on it, and stickers everywhere with the same smiling face and the question, "Who Killed Cori Daye Desmond?"
I could only feel sorrow for someone so pretty and vivacious, snuffed out at a time in her life when she had everything to live for. Then my sorrow was overwhelmed by anger and hate for the sociopathic monster who took her life. It doesn't take a rocket scientist. Some prick wanted to play macho man lover with her and she put him down. This doesn't have the typical signs of a botched mugging. The murderer, who probably lives in the area, scary, didn't really panic. Who are we kidding? This dangerous creep had the presence of mind to bundle up her corpse and transport it all the way across LA County into San Bernadino where he sloppily buried her. That was the only break. Had the killer done a better job then the passerby would have never noticed her leg sticking out of the grave. Whoever and wherever you are, monster, you think you got away with it. But you'll make a mistake and eventually the LA police will slowly but surely start finding more evidence and will track you down. I have to believe that there's a witness out there who must have seen the murder. Please come forward so that Cori Daye Desmond can find eternal rest. Please do the right thing even if you are scared.
