The woman found shot in the head behind a popular San Pedro restaurant has died, police said Monday.

The woman, Ginie M. Samoya, 27, of San Pedro died Sunday at County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center from her wound.

Samoya was about 8:15 a.m. in her Toyota Tercel parked in an alley behind the Pacific Diner at 3821 S. Pacific Ave.

Los Angeles police Capt. Dave Lindsay said detectives continued investigating leads on Monday.

"We're making progress," Lindsay said. "This was not a random act and people in the area really don't have anything to worry about."

her name was GINIE N SAMAYOA was a great person and loving person. she never wanted to fight she was a very loving person and alot of people cared about her and i will always remember her the way she was.and losing someone is the worst feeling ever and the people had no reason to do what they. and it was wrong all she wanted to do was to make her family proud and she never got that chance. but the family now knows and they couldnt be more happier of how she made it in life and she did but i wish that she would of had more time to go on with her wishes and dreams.along with her puppy in her life.

My dear daughter Ginie made me very proud by her assertiveness, independence and loving kindness, Ginie will forever live in my heart.

This is the very first article I have ever read since my Ginie's departure. I still hurt as if it was yesterday and will never cease. My Lord now keeps my Ginie in a safe place away from criminals like the three in prison now. I pray HIS justice be fulfilled soon.

Ginie will be remembered as a rose will be in the garden in front of the float in the 2010 Donor's Rose Float as her Kidney and Heart live on in two other people Ginie helped save. May the Lord almighty prevail always as Ginie's faith was strong and that is why I know she is waiting for me so we someday can be reunited forever. I will always love you mija! see you soon.

Larry,

Follow up with the soon to take place trials since you were so eager to splash the news for ratings sake.

Long Beach Courts may begin this week.

Ginie's mother has been sentenced for Life WITHOUT the possibility of ever seeing her again here on earth.
