Here's a nice shot by photog Sean Hiller of a joyous Brianna Bartolone and her dog, Lola, at the Torrance Police Department on Wednesday. Police recovered her dog, which was stolen out of her boyfriend's pickup on Sunday, and surprised her in the station lobby. Read the full story.

I'm so happy these two were caught! I live in MB by sand dune park and my car was broken into on Tuesday around noon. Whoever broke in smashed the window in and took my purse with a ton of my personal financial information inside. If I'm lucky then it was these two idiots who did this to me and hopefully my belongings were with them when they were captured. I'm reaching out the the Torrance and Manhattan Beach PD to find out. If it wasn't with them I'm hoping that if anyone sees a large brown leather looking bag with paperwork inside would contact me at bky21085@aim.com
Thanks!

Larry Altman has covered crime in the South Bay since 1990. He's seen it all - the missing model who turned up dead in the desert, the wives found dead in trunks, the high-school coaches who get a little too close to their players. He drives his young colleagues nuts with his "I remember when" stories. He welcomes your tips and observations about the present, and you can mix in a little Lakers basketball talk if you like.
