A public memorial service for Henry
Nigel Pearson, the Manhattan Beach man killed in the

crash that took
the life of Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart, will have a baseball theme.
The Thursday afternoon service will
begin at 4 p.m. on the Mira Costa High School baseball field where
Pearson once played.
The 25-year-old's father, Nigel, said the
service will be a celebration of his life because "Henry was full
of life."
"Everybody is very much encouraged to
come to the service," the father said.
A friend will sing the national anthem
to begin the service, which will be organized into nine innings,
including a first pitch and seventh inning stretch with everyone singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."
Viewing will be Tuesday at White &
Day Manhattan Beach from 4 to 8 p.m.
The family will attend a private
service.
Pearson died Thursday when a suspected
drunken driver ran a red light and crashed into a Mitsubishi Eclipse
carrying him; Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart, 22; Courtney Stewart, 20,
of Diamond Bar; and Jon Wilhite, 25, of Manhattan Beach.
Pearson, Stewart, and Adenhart, who had
pitched in the Angels' Wednesday night game as his friends watched,
died. Wilhite remains hospitalized at University of California Irvine
Medical Center in Orange. His condition was upgraded over the weekend
from critical to serious.
Andrew Gallo, 22, of San
Gabriel is scheduled to appear for arraignment
today in Orange County court. He is charged with three counts of
murder.
Pearson's friends continued over the
weekend and today posting messages and photographs on his Facebook
page and under his obituary at dailybreeze.com.
"I am so sorry for the loss of your
son," Mary Phillips of Fountain Valley wrote today. "I didn't
know Henry..but I did want to offer my prayers to your family during
this time. He looked like a great person, and just know he is an
angel looking over your family."
Pearson's obituary is after the jump.
