The family of Manhattan Beach's Jon Wilhite, who was critically hurt in the crash that killed Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart, Diamond Bar resident Courtney Stewart, and Mira Costa High School grad Henry Pearson issued this statement today. They have chosen not to do interviews and we will respect their wishes:

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Courtney, Henry and Nick's families as they deal with this horrific tragedy. We are also overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support we have received since this senseless act of violence and ask for your continued prayers for Jon's recovery.

Jon remains in critical but stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at U.C. Irvine Medical Center. His condition has not significantly changed since he was admitted.

A trust fund has been established by Wells Fargo Bank to aid Jon during what will surely be a long road to recovery. Donations can be made to the Benefit Fund for Jon Wilhite, #3980643658 at any Wells Fargo branch."
