He's the man who killed Narbonne High School football player Dannie Lamont Farber Jr., 18.

The man exchanged words with the Harbor City school student and started shooting at 9:40 p.m. Sunday as Farber ate dinner with his girlfriend at Louisiana Fried Chicken at 1950 W. Rosecrans Ave. in Compton.

He fled east on Rosecrans and escaped in a blue older-model car with tinted windows.

The killer is black, 17 to 21 years old, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 9 inches tall, 140 to 160 pounds, with a thin build and a dark complexion. He wore a dark blue hooded sweat shirt and dark jeans.

A $10,000 reward has been offered for information to solve the killing.

Anyone with information should call sheriff's homicide detectives at 323-890-5500.

He drives his young colleagues nuts with his "I remember when" stories. He welcomes your tips and observations about the present, and you can mix in a little Lakers basketball talk if you like.
