A 46-year-old Los Angeles man was killed in a head-on crash in Torrance, police said Monday.

The crash occurred about 4:40 p.m. Sunday on Sepulveda Boulevard at Palos Verdes Boulevard, Torrance police Sgt. Bernard Anderson said.

Police said the driver of a 1997 Honda sedan was headed west on Sepulveda when he drifted into the eastboudn lanes and struck a 2009 Honda sedan.

The man was pronounced dead at County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. The driver and passenger in the other car were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Sepulveda Boulevard was closed for several hours for the investigation. The deceased driver's name was not released pending notification of relatives.
