From City News Service:

A public works inspector with the city of Hermosa Beach was ordered today to stand trial on nine felony charges for allegedly accepting or soliciting bribes.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Darrell Mavis denied the defense's request to dismiss charges against Victor Olando Jackson.

The 47-year-old defendant is accused of accepting bribes ranging from $150 to $600 between January 2006 and October 2008 in exchange for approving work.

Jackson posted $175,000 bail after surrendering to police last November and was put on paid administrative leave from his job.

He is scheduled to return to the downtown Los Angeles courthouse on July 8 for arraignment.

I would like to know exactly which projects got his bribed OK. The workers put at risk, the public put at risk, and payers (the tax payers?) scammed for being given incomplete work for the price of complete work. Nasty all over.

Victor Jackson inspected my work for many years. Mr. Jackson was always professional and honest. I don't believe that he would have ever done something like this.

These allegations held against Mr. Jackson are false and Hermosa City Beach should be investigated for framing. Anyone who knows Mr. Jackson knows his loyalty and commitment to his professionalism. This is truly a case of prejudice and discrimination.
