Redondo Beach officer shoots suspect

LAWNDALE - A man shot by a Redondo Beach police officer was
hospitalized today.

The shooting in the 4500 block of 170th Street occurred about 11:40 p.m.
Saturday, Deputy Byron Ward of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital, but his name and condition were
unavailable early today. What led to the shooting was not immediately
disclosed.

 Sheriff's detectives were handling the investigation.

wow, redondo beach is safe huh? haha, i love when everyone from redondo tries to say they live in a no crime city... Ide rather be in the hood of pedro than in your hood. They say the suspect shot 70 rounds! Atleast our gangsters can shoot and hit something :)

Redondo/Hermosa was/is far from safe. IIRC late last year or so they were having armed robberies of pedestrians and stores with what felt like once a week or more frequent.
