Torrance and San Pedro cosmetic surgeon Dr. Lawrence Saks operates deep in the legal system

Everytime we write about Dr. Lawrence Saks, the Torrance and San Pedro plastic surgeon who can't seem to avoid trouble with the law, we almost always hear from a former or current patient with their own tale of woe or, at the very least, reports of suspicious behavior.

In response to yesterday's story about new charges against Saks, a former patient who asked that her name not be used wrote this:

Hello Denise,

I was looking for some article that I wanted to catch up from last week, and happened to see your headline "Former Torrance Plastic Surgeon faces additional charges" ,   I immediately thought about Dr. Saks and sure it was.  I usually don't watch news or read papers regularly and I was away from the area for some years during the time so I didn't know about it until now (Dah).  It is interesting to know it caught up with him this far now.  It seems have been going on for a while too.  I was his patient around year 2000.  I knew they were doing something wrong but didn't do anything about it at the time because I feared the Dr. Saks would come after me for the ridiculous claims he was making with the insurance company (mine was Aetna) despite I thought he charged me too much for what he did from my pocket (tummy tack and breast augmentation).  I knew he was pocketing mega $$ so fast.  I wonder where the all beautiful Mac Chagall Lithographs are now that were at his clinic on PCH.

It was funny that I found also that Dr. Saks filed a lawsuits against Longshore & Warehouse Union for $10 mil in just this April...I understand he needs money bad and he wants it big.  Maybe I should pray to keep the bad karma away from my breasts and tummy.

Thank you for listening my rumbling...

The lawsuit she referred to was originally filed in Superior Court, but moved to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California in April. My colleague, Melissa Evans, wrote about his dispute (and others) with the ILWU last year. In 2007, the union issued a notice to its members that it would no longer cover services provided by Saks because of problems with his claims. Saks' lawsuit claims the ILWU breached its contract - to the tune of $4.8 million - by failing to approve coverage for procedures he performed.

I can't beIieve it actually took this long for this guy to get caught!
I had a botched tummy tuck with this quack in 1998, I wish I had the guts at the time to sue him! He put me and my husband (having him drain my wounds) through pure hell!
He also took a lot of out of pocket money from me and way over billed my insurance company.
I ended up with bad infection and too many horrible proceedures and a second correction surgery (I wasn't completely put out for) just too many awful stories to list here.
Is there a class action lawsuit going on now? There should be, I betcha you would hear all kinds of true horror stories about him!

I would love to know if there is a class action lawsuit. In 2005 Dr Saks performed a breast augmentation on me and I had to have it redone by another surgeon after having many complications. He had apparently used a 500 cc saline implant and overfilled it to 1070 cc. I was double the size I wanted and my chest cavity couldn't support the implant. This quack cut my peck muscles to fit the implant and I had to spend 11,000 to repair all the problems he created after I spent 6500 with Dr. Saks!! He deserves to rot in jail for taking advantage of innocent people who trusted him with their health.
