Bar patron with camera helps catch Hermosa Beach stabbing suspect
Some readers wondered (as did I) how Hermosa Beach police had a photograph of their 
stabbing suspect, but didn't know who he was. Sgt. Robert Higgins answered that one tonight:
"The picture came from a customer who happened to take a picture of the bad guy... bad luck for him..."
Police officers, by the way, managed to identify Rudy Distrito of Wilmington on their own. Detectives did get some calls from the public after they released the picture to the media, but they went out on their own and found him.
