Denise reports in from court:

Ricky Madison, 49, was just sentenced to die for the brutal stabbing death of his girlfriend in Hawthorne in 2006. He believed she was pregnant. (She had miscarried just days before.)

Madison was convicted in May in the slaying of Aysha Sly, 27. He stabbed her 172 times.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Dabney imposed the sentence at the Airport Courthouse.

Denise is on her way back and will file a full story later.
