No charges for Jon Cryer's former wife in Hermosa Beach child abuse arrest
Actor Jon Cryer's former wife will not be charged with any crimes in the wake of her arrest in Hermosa Beach for suspicion of abusing her son, prosecutors said Tuesday.
"Although the child was injured, there was insufficient evidence to prove the crimes of child abuse or child neglect," Deputy District Attorney Jodi Link said in explaining why she declined to file a case against Sarah Louise Trigger.
Trigger, 40, was arrested May 28 at her home after her estranged husband and father of the 2-year-old boy injuries to his neck, police said.
Cryer is not the boy's father. The "Two and a Half Men" star does have a 9-year-old son with Trigger.
When social workers and police officers went to her home, she apparently gave different stories about the boy's injuries.
She's remained free on $100,000 bail since her arrest.
