My story on the illegal fireworks seizure will be posted shortly.

Here's the mug shots of the two guys arrested: Brian Flanigan, 40, of Torrance, left, and Patrick German, 39, of Redondo Beach. Firefighters and police say Flanigan had so many illegal fireworks stored at his house that it could have leveled his neighborhood had it caught fire.

Larry, why is the Topix comment section closed for this article? I posted something (positive), and now it's gone. I've noticed that happens frequently on your articles. Just wondering.

The online editors take the comments down sometimes because some commenters engage in personal attacks, racism and obscenities.

We don't have the staff to monitor them and weed out the negatives from the constructive comments.

Glad the cops caught these guys.

It reminded me of the guy from Colorossi Paitining Company that got busted for fireworks several years ago.

Anyone know how that one turned out?

Becky said:

Edguardo, Colorossi wasn't manufacturing his own fireworks like these guys- they are more dangerous. And FYI, sadly, Colorossi only got probation.... There should be tougher penalties for people like this who endanger all of us!

These Crums are as thoughtless as they come. Those neighboring homes are the realized dreams of of some wonderful people.

I am one of those wonderful people who live on this block and actually really like Brian and his family. Maybe a very bad decision to get a quick buck, but good people make bad decisions all of the time.

Lock these two losers up!! They could have damaged the neighborhood and caused death to people!! Keep them locked up with no bail! There next fireworks should be a Folsom Prison!!

I know this is wrong to sell Fire Works and yes, it is dangerous to have fire works in your home and around children but guess what with this economy it drives everyone to do something wrong just to make ends meet.Give more jobs and help those who need it.

I think if you want to make your own fireworks for profit and you can afford $300k in supplies you can afford a 40k home in the middle of the mojave desert to manufacture your products. Not in a residential neighborhood with families and children. Like the neighber said probably not bad guys but a very bad decision.

I've known Brian for over 20 years. He's a really good guy !!! a good family man. We're in bad times right now, he made a very bad decision and he'll pay for it i'm sure. But let's make this guy the poster boy for all that's bad in the South Bay. 2.3 Million bail !! give me a break !!!
