Carson boy, 13, dies while playing with gun
CARSON (CNS) - An autopsy was pending today on the body of a teenage boy
killed while playing with a handgun in Carson.
The incident in the 21400 block of Orrick Avenue, near Main and Carson
streets, was reported about 2:40 p.m. Thursday, said Deputy Aura Sierra of the
Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
The victim and another boy had been playing video games but then got
into a locked gun cabinet inside the home and brought out a handgun, Sierra
said.
``As the victim and his friend played with the handgun, it accidentally
discharged, striking the victim,'' Sierra said.
The boy, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members at the scene told a Newsreel camera crew that the other
boy was ``very traumatized'' over what happened.

if the boy allowed his friend to influence him on breaking into that cabinet, HE GOT WHAT WAS COMING TO HIM. and if you left the children alone at home with no supervision, then....
HE GOT WHAT HE DESERVED. STUPID!
more oxygen for us to who are alive
You serious? Why won't you put your name with a comment like that? It's a 13-year-old kid that's died.
Are you serious, I can't beleive you said that. GROW UP. Its the idiots on the street that CHOOSE to go like that you should be talking about. Kids make mistakes, and unfortuantly he died from it. I see that you have no heart its just plain ignorance.
THIS IS BIG ICE. MY NAME MIKE ELPIS. YES I AM SERIOUS. IT WAS LOCKED FOR A REASON. THE KID BROKE INTO IT. THAT CRIMINAL. ALREADY BREAKING INTO THINGS THAT HE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO. WELL AT LEAST I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY TAX DOLLARS SUPPORTING HIM.
The article said they somehow got into a "locked gun cabinet". It must have not been locked or they broke into it. It is still a very sad situation. The other kid is going to have to live with this for the rest of his life.
I don't blame the boy, I blame the parent(s) for keeping a gun in a "locked" gun cabinet that wasn't very secure.
Big Ice or is it Big A**? What kind of heartless person are you? I guess you missed the part that said they got into a locked gun cabinet, maybe they found a poorly hidden key. Either way a 13 year old killed his friend by accident. I feel for both families in this, they will both be scarred for the rest of their lives.
obviously you guys can't read..... it says "LOCKED" gun cabinet. the only way this kid could of got into it was to "BREAK IN" and only way you can blame the parents is if they were not home. that means they broke the law by leaving 2 MINORS unsupervised. YOU DON'T PLAY WITH A GUN, the parents should of told them that. A LOADED ONE TOO??????!!!!!!!!
TEACH YOUR CHILDREN!!
HEY, DON'T GET MAD AT ME. SAD SITUATION IF IT WAS A HELPLESS INFANT. BUT NO, IT WAS A TEENAGER WHO SHOULD KNOW THE DIFFERENCE FROM RIGHT AND WRONG. AND WERE THEY UNSUPERVISED? WE SHOULD KNOW THAT TOO. THINK ABOUT IT PEOPLE! IF IT WAS YOU, WOULD YOU LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN UNSUPERVISED LIKE THAT FOR SOMETHING THAT TERRIBLE TO HAPPEN? HOW OLD ARE THE PARENTS? ARE THEY THE TYPE TO LEAVE THEIR CHILDREN WITH THE GRANDPARENTS OR NEIGHBORS JUST SO THEY CAN GO PARTY AND ACT LIKE KIDS THEMSELVES? SELFISH!
I will ad,GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE,PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE! I REPEAT,TEACH YOUR CHILDREN!!!
hey sorry, but i think i agree with this mike guy.
we should know if the parents left them unsupervised. this other kid should get put in jail for murder. They knew they were playing with a real gun. they probably knew it was loaded too. so what happens when you pull the trigger on a loaded gun? UNFORTUNATELY HE DIED.
it is not against the law to leave a 13 year old at home with no supervision per the carson sheriff station. i personally called to find out.
someone has no life....... that says alot about you. WOW i hope your kids are not next.
first of all i know that boy and he was my best friends cousin and for u to be talkin about a kid is not right and you should think about how the family feels right now they are not in stable condition.. thats plain mean u should be aware of what u are saying!
