Convicted child molester, Ralph Eugene Carter, 56, was arrested Monday when he allegedly exposed himself and played a little solitaire on a Hawthorne street.

Police say numerous high school students were walking home from school at the time.

A passing motorist saw Carter about 3 p.m. Monday at 118th Street and Inglewood Avenue and called police, who stopped him at Grevillea Avenue.

He was arrested on suspicion of committing a lewd act in public and booked at Hawthorne jail.

Carter is listed on California's Megan's Law list of registered sex offenders. The site lists him as residing in Los Angeles, and says he was convicted of annoying or molesting children.
