San Pedro man survives fatal crash in Kansas
A San Pedro man's van slid off a Kansas highway and rolled over into a ditch, killing his 50-year-old passenger, troopers said today.
Joeseph Giguere III, 37, was at the wheel of a 2007 Chevrolet van that crashed at 4:30 a.m. Monday on Interstate 70 near Goodland, about 1 1/2 miles from the Colorado border.
Giguere told officers he passed a big rig and pulled back into the right lane. He told troopers he swerved because he thought he saw something in the road.
The van slid into a ditch on the north side of the road, rolled over and came to rest on the driver's side.
Passenger Kelly Colvin, 50, of Pocatella, Idaho was pronounced dead at Goodland Regional Medical Center.
Giguere was not hurt.

Kelly Colvin was my dad. I just want it put out there that none of his 5 kids 8 grandkids his wife or his siblings, and nieces and nephews blame Giguere. In fact he's a great guy that something bad happened to him
