Banning High students visit Coast Guard in San Pedro
The U.S. Coast Guard hosted 60 sophomore's today from Banning High School's Global Safety and Security Academy.
The Wilmington campus' students visited Coast Guard Base Support Unit San Pedro to participate in their Coast Guard Day.
The students learned about the missions and responsibilities of the Coast Guard, Long Beach Harbor Patrol, Los Angeles Port Police and Customs and Border Protection.
The Coast Guard said that about 90 percent of academy students graduate and achieve measurable performance improvement.

Los Angeles-Long Beach.

The MSSTs use the tactical vest as body armor while performing noncompliant boardings.
