Kids put Carson classmate's death in perspective
There's plenty of comments below the story on Christopher Kinney, the 12-year-old Gardena boy who killed himself accidentally while playing with his dad's gun yesterday. There's lots of anger and blame being placed on the parents and the boy. The commenters are the same usual angry people who offer angry comments on every subject.
The kids at Stephen White Middle School are the ones writing in to just express sadness.
Here's what they've said:

miss you chris
I'm an 8th grader at SMW. I felt the sadness at school even though I didn't know Chris too well .
I do not know him, but this is a sad story, I go to Narbonne High. I'm sure that all his friends miss him, even everyone else that knew him. RIP
My brother is one of Chris' very good friends. As he told me what happened, tears started to roll down his face. It is already clear to me that this will effect him and all of Chris' other friends for the rest of their life. Yes, we could sit here and point fingers and blame this person and that till the end of time. But the fact still remains that someone's friend, brother, and son is lost. I feel it would be much better to help these kids through their grieving process and send our thoughts and prayers to Chris' family.
Chris, I'll miss you. Rest in Paradise.
IM WAS HIS BEST FRIEND IN elematary and still is but he went 2 a different school 4 seventh grade he use 2 go 2 peary, i just wish i've talk 2 him on that day R.I.P CHRISTOPHER KINNEY

Chris was my cousin, my neighbor, and best friend. I really loved him and i always will. He always had my back and respected me. I don't remember him ever saying anything bad about me. I feel really horrible, because the last time I saw him was Friday, and he was asking me if he can come in... I went outside with him for about ten minutes, then he helped me find my phone. Then we sat in the car together and talked. I miss him so much and just want to hug him. Christopher i love you so much, you were like a little brother to me. You will always remain in my heart, soul and memories. I LOVE YOU CHRISTOPHER KINNEY!!
Christopher was my cousin, neighbor, and most of all, my beast friend forever. I love this kid and i always will. I feel so horrible, because the last time that i saw him was Friday, October 9 2009. He came to my house asking if he could come in. I went outside with him instead for about ten minutes. Then he helped me find my phone. Then we sat in the car for about a few minutes and we talk. It was fun.
I miss him so much and just wanted to hug him. If i knew that day was the last day of me ever speaking to him, i would hug him, because i wanted to so badly, but i figured i could hug him the next time i see him.
He was a wonderful boy with an awesome personality. Christopher, you will always be remembered. For you are and always will be in my heart, soul, and memories. I love you Christopher!!!
