Torrance High grad found dead near Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
Charles Tamae, 20, had been missing from school since Nov. 30. A search team found his bicycle and his body today.
The San Luis Obispo PD should have some info out soon about what happened.
Here's what a SLO TV station is reporting.
*Two news stations in SLO are reporting that Tamae committed suicide. I have not been able to confirm this on the phone.
On a personal note, I wonder if this man would have done this had he known that dozens of friends would be offering condolences on a Facebook page devoted to finding him.

Is this a news article, or an OpEd piece? Your personal note at the end of your story is unwarranted, and quite frankly as a reader, unwanted.
Report the news and leave it at that. For you to question this man's "ifs", is both tactless and insensitive. What if his parents or siblings read this. No class, as far as I'm concerned Larry Altman lacks it.
If this was my son you wrote about and ended it with your statement..........we'd be having more than words I assure you.
First, this is a blog. Not the newspaper.
I was trying to say that I wondered if he knew he had so many friends who cared about him.
Steven Brownlee... are you really that dense?
Please post this story on www.departedngone.com
Steve: How old are you? Do you have a child? Have you ever had one of your own children die? Hmmm? No? I thought not coming from your sophmoric, albiet brief comment. Come talk to me if it ever happens to you, then we'll have some common ground. Then let's talk about dense. My question to you.....Are you really that cold hearted and insensitive? Your ignorance is obvious.
Larry: You said " I was trying to say that I wondered if he knew he had so many friends who cared about him."
Your a "professional" writer, your job is to communicate precisely and clearly. What you were trying to say and what you did say are two separate things. Perhaps writing isn't your forte.
Who are you, newspaper or blogger, to question his intentions? Have you ever had a child of your own die? Would you like someone who knows nothing about your son to question your son's motives.
In the first place, you don't even demonstrate with solid facts that this unfortunate young man committed suicide. You presume then opine. If suicide was indeed the cause, then your opinion should be checked at the door. Who are you to question his mental stability. Obviously by questiong his motives, you lack any knowledge of a possible mental condition that could have been a root cause.
You say: "First, this is a blog. Not the newspaper."
Your header says Daily Breeze. You are a staff writer for the Daily Breeze. You attempt to write a piece in the format of a news article. On my return to this page tonight, I do see "blogger" finally over your name. Sorry if I didn't notice it the first time, but I was drawn to the article, not your self promoting blurb amongst the overwhelming clutter of the page layout. So If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck....... it's a new page.
Steve Brownlee
Steven Brownlee is a condescending individual who can't relate to anything outside of his own experience.
Steven: I don't care if you lost a child. Stop lecturing Larry about doing his job correctly. Boo-hoo!
