A man was shot in the head early Monday in an apparently gang-related incident in Inglewood, police said.

Police who received a call about "unknown trouble" found the man about 3 a.m. in the 700 block of South Grevillea Avenue, Inglewood police Lt. Oscar Serrano said.

The man had a single gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a hospital and was reported in critical condition.

His identity was not released.

Police believe the victim was walking along the street when the shooting occurred. The motive appeared to be gang-related, Serrano said.

Anyone with information about the crime was asked to call detectives at 310-412-5246 or the 24-hour anonymous hotline number 888-41-CRIME.
