Two women busted on suspicion of breaking into cars in Hawthorne
Two Inglewood women were arrested on suspicion of breaking into cars at the Metro Park and Ride lot in Hawthorne, police said Friday.
Police received the burglary report about 3:40 p.m. Thursday. Officers in the Hawthorne police helicopter spotted the women driving away from the lot, Hawthorne police Lt. Gary Tomatani said.
Officers on the ground pulled them over and discovered stolen property in the car. It included a car stereo, a woman's purse and wallet with identification not belonging to the two women, and jewelry.
Police also found multiple shaved keys in the car.
Arrested on suspicion of burglary, attempted burglary, and possession of stolen property, were Cristina Ortega, 33, and Natalie Seidelman, 32.
Police are investigating whether a third suspect escaped.
