Police: Man tries to blackmail woman into having sex with him

folinsky, john.jpgAn Encino man tried to blackmail a Hermosa Beach woman into having sex with him by threatening to show personal photographs of herself to her boss, police said Friday.

John Andor Folinsky, 37, was arrested Wednesday when he showed up in Hermosa Beach to meet the woman, Hermosa Beach police Detective Mick Gaglia said.

Folinsky contacted the woman earlier Wednesday on an Internet social networking site. After the woman sent him personal photos and information, Folinsky threatened to make the pictures and information public if she refused to have sexual intercourse with him, Gaglia said.

The woman reported Folinsky to police.

Detectives acting covertly arranged to meet with him at an undisclosed location.

He was arrested on susicion of attempting to commit rape using fear and duress.

Detectives searched Folinsky's home and discovered various illegal and prescription drugs that he allegedly was selling, Gaglia said.

Folinsky was released after posting $185,000 bail.
