PHOTO: 'Spirit of America' captured in smiles, salutes
You might have read my story today about the death of U.S. Army Sgt. Kyle Warren in Afghanistan.Warren was originally from the South Bay, but most recently lived in Manchester, N.H. with his wife.
I mentioned in today's article that Warren and three friends decided to join the military at the same time in 2004 to better themselves. I didn't realize it until just now, but the Union Leader in New Hampshire ran this photograph with its stories on Warren's death. It shows the four friends -- Josh Veverka, Justin Veverka, Ben Lacroix and Kyle Warren -- saluting for the camera. Hopefully the others are safe.

I am Kyle's cousin but we were more like brothers. He was an amazing person. Everybody who met Kyle loved him and he loved them. He was an outstanding soldier who gave his best in everything he did. He had just gotten married in November to one of the best women you will ever meet and they were extremely happy. I miss him so much and so do countless others but he is in a better place now. I love you brother.
The other three, Ben, justin and Josh are fine and out of the military now. Two live in new Hampshire and one in Louisiana.
