Police warn of Honda thefts (Of course, I drive one)

Thieves have stolen 32 Honda and Acuras in Torrance since May, police reported Thursday.

The thefts have occurred in commercial and residential areas, including at apartments and single-family homes.

The crimes are occurring mostly Sundays through Tuesday between 6 and 10 p.m.

So far, the tally is 15 1990-2007 Honda Accords, 12 1988-2007 Honda Civics, and five 1991-2001 Acura Integras.

The thefts have risen, including four in May, six in June, nine in July and 13 in August.

Police advised residents to make sure their vehicles are locked and parked in safe locations.
