A Southland youth hockey coach accused of molesting a boy was free on bail today, police said.

Daniel Gibb, 31, of Redondo Beach, was taken into custody Thursday just
outside his home, said Detective Mick Gaglia of the Hermosa Beach Police
Department.

``Detectives placed suspect Gibb under arrest following his confirmation
of the sexual molestation during a telephone conversation with the victim,''
Gaglia said.

``The molestation of the teenage boy occurred several years ago while he
was 11 and again while he was approximately 13,'' he said.

Gibb coached ice hockey at the Toyota Center in El Segundo and at ice
hockey facilities throughout Southern California, but authorities did not say
whether the alleged victim was on one of his teams.

He was released from jail today after posting a bond of $100,000 and is
scheduled to be in court Nov. 10.

This hockey puck is accused of giving the ol' high stick, huh? If he's checked and found to be guilty put him in the penalty box for a long time.
